Narrative:
I spent over 1 hour climbing in weak mountain wave, from 2900-9800 ft MSL, 5 mi west of westport, ny. I then commenced a straight final glide at 55 KIAS (85 KTS ground speed) to 0b7 airport. As I was crossing lake champlain, I began monitoring 121.1 MHZ. Near vergennes, a B737 passed directly under my glider, giving me a clear view of both cockpit windows and engines, but no view of the wingtips due to excessive proximity. I saw this aircraft for less than 2 seconds before it passed. As the B737 passed under, I heard no engine noise. I heard the boeing crew report the miss to burlington approach, who replied that it was painting no gliders in the vicinity, although their radar showed numerous gliders near 0b7, to the east of the ridge, running from camel's hump to mt lincoln.

I SAW THIS ACFT FOR LESS THAN 2 SECONDS BEFORE IT PASSED. AS THE B737 PASSED UNDER, I HEARD NO ENG NOISE. I HEARD THE BOEING CREW RPT THE MISS TO BURLINGTON APCH, WHO REPLIED THAT IT WAS PAINTING NO GLIDERS IN THE VICINITY, ALTHOUGH THEIR RADAR SHOWED NUMEROUS GLIDERS NEAR 0B7, TO THE E OF THE RIDGE, RUNNING FROM CAMEL'S HUMP TO MT LINCOLN.
