Narrative:

A passenger was feeling ill and notified his wife. She stopped another flight attendant. An md was paged and responded. Aed was used to monitor the passenger. My concern was use of solid state oxygen -- the heat involved in used units and the disposal of these units in lavatories and the limited availability of oxygen. The passenger very nearly exhausted all of the passenger supply. Emt met the flight and escorted the passenger and his wife to a hospital. All professionals who met flight were very competent and helpful to the situation. My only concern as an observing flight attendant was the use of heat, and availability of the solid state oxygen units. These are only used on the B767 aircraft and are very limited in use and very dangerous. The md attending the passenger and subsequent contact with his md in rdu, thought that a previous heart attack might have happened.
