Narrative:
While climbing out of apc on an IFR flight plan to vny, we were told upon checking in with ZOA, we were in someone else's airspace. We were proceeding from gso VOR to ave as cleared by apc tower. The handoff came late and our transponder was on standby. Center never knew we were in the air. We ended up in travis AFB's area.
