Narrative:
Air carrier descended to 7000 ft on arrival to tpa. Learjet climbed to 6000 ft on initial contact. However, 7000 ft actually given to learjet. Conflict recognized and learjet turned immediately west prior to loss of separation. However, during the turn separation descended below 3 mi. Safety was never compromised.

Title: LOSS OF SEPARATION BTWN A LEARJET CLBING OUT AND A B737 ON ARR DSCNT, DUE TO APCH CTLR ERROR.
Narrative: ACR DSNDED TO 7000 FT ON ARR TO TPA. LEARJET CLBED TO 6000 FT ON INITIAL CONTACT. HOWEVER, 7000 FT ACTUALLY GIVEN TO LEARJET. CONFLICT RECOGNIZED AND LEARJET TURNED IMMEDIATELY W PRIOR TO LOSS OF SEPARATION. HOWEVER, DURING THE TURN SEPARATION DSNDED BELOW 3 MI. SAFETY WAS NEVER COMPROMISED.
