Narrative:

Just before departure, was informed about passenger that had passed out and on the floor. Physician on board could obtain pulse. Declared medical emergency and returned to gate. After obtaining new flight plan and returning to aircraft, observed a passenger in handcuffs. First officer informed me that he had threatened to kill pilots with gun if he had one. Arresting officer said he appeared to be either intoxicated or high on something -- in any case, not mentally stable and he would be going to psychiatric hospital. The arrested passenger did not check in any bags. After coordinating with gate agent, decided to have aircraft checked by police. Passenger disembarked and carry-on bags were removed as well. Aircraft was searched and dog was used as well.
