Narrative:
On departure out of ord, aircraft was in managed navigation and managed speed. First officer was flying when the aircraft accelerated through 250 KTS. Airspeed reached approximately 280 KTS when first officer disengaged automation and manually reduced speed. Supplemental information from acn 491052: 250 KTS was exceeded in leveloff at 5000 ft. We were light and autothrust did not pull power back quick enough. I was slow to turn off automation. Autothrottle was on and I was hand flying.
