Narrative:
During climb at FL180, aircraft shook and yawed at same time got left engine oil pressure warning and engine oil aural warning. At that time I looked at engine instruments and saw vibration on #1 engine N2 gauge. The first officer PF took controls and radios and I performed QRH procedures/single engine procedures. I declared an emergency and asked for turn to nearest airport. It was decided mht was best. I contacted company dispatch for landing information and amend flight release then talked to maintenance and notified them of our problem. The flight landed uneventfully at mht airport. I have no opinion on what caused the engine failure. The engine shut itself down so no attempt to restart was made. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the cause of the engine failure was not passed onto the crew. The reporter said it was certainly an engine change, but that's about all we got out of maintenance.

Title: A CL-65 IN CLB AT FL180 DECLARED AN EMER AND DIVERTED DUE TO #1 ENG LOSS OF PWR, CAUSE UNKNOWN.
Narrative: DURING CLB AT FL180, ACFT SHOOK AND YAWED AT SAME TIME GOT L ENG OIL PRESSURE WARNING AND ENG OIL AURAL WARNING. AT THAT TIME I LOOKED AT ENG INSTS AND SAW VIBRATION ON #1 ENG N2 GAUGE. THE FO PF TOOK CTLS AND RADIOS AND I PERFORMED QRH PROCS/SINGLE ENG PROCS. I DECLARED AN EMER AND ASKED FOR TURN TO NEAREST ARPT. IT WAS DECIDED MHT WAS BEST. I CONTACTED COMPANY DISPATCH FOR LNDG INFO AND AMEND FLT RELEASE THEN TALKED TO MAINT AND NOTIFIED THEM OF OUR PROB. THE FLT LANDED UNEVENTFULLY AT MHT ARPT. I HAVE NO OPINION ON WHAT CAUSED THE ENG FAILURE. THE ENG SHUT ITSELF DOWN SO NO ATTEMPT TO RESTART WAS MADE. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE CAUSE OF THE ENG FAILURE WAS NOT PASSED ONTO THE CREW. THE RPTR SAID IT WAS CERTAINLY AN ENG CHANGE, BUT THAT'S ABOUT ALL WE GOT OUT OF MAINT.
