Narrative:
On departure out of mexico city while flying the arcos 1 departure, we got a reminder by mexico city departure to be sure to maintain only 180 KIAS until basos intersection (mex 052 degree radial, 5.5 DME). I was advised by the captain prior to takeoff not to worry bout this restr, so I accelerated normally. I also did not keep the slat out until after making the turn to tpx NDB. Therefore, my turn radius was bigger. After the reminder from departure, the captain recommended that next time I leave the slats out until after proceeding to tpx so that the turn would not be so wide and to be sure to not exceed 200 KIAS within 10 NM of the airport and below 3000 ft AGL. We were above 200 KIAS within 10 NM, but I am fairly certain we were above 3000 ft AGL before we were above 200 KIAS. My concern is that others may ignore the 180 KIAS restr and that the technique to leave the slats out until the turn to tpx is complete, should be passed on to all flying the arcos 1. I can also not guarantee I absolutely did not exceed 200 KIAS within 10 NM and below 3000 ft AGL or mexico city. Departure did not seem concerned, nor did the captain seem concerned about this event.
