Narrative:
Inbound on the rbv arrival to ewr at 11000 ft, ATC advised VFR traffic at 10500 ft. We never saw the traffic. A couple of mins later, a TCASII RA directed a rapid climb to 13300 ft. The map display indicated the traffic passed 400 ft directly underneath us.

Title: TCASII RA FLOWN NEAR RBV TO AVOID TFC PREVIOUSLY POINTED OUT BUT NOT SEEN.
Narrative: INBOUND ON THE RBV ARR TO EWR AT 11000 FT, ATC ADVISED VFR TFC AT 10500 FT. WE NEVER SAW THE TFC. A COUPLE OF MINS LATER, A TCASII RA DIRECTED A RAPID CLB TO 13300 FT. THE MAP DISPLAY INDICATED THE TFC PASSED 400 FT DIRECTLY UNDERNEATH US.
