Narrative:
Location: 2 mi from landing/approach. As first officer, I was flying and we were cleared on a night visual approach to runway 35C, dfw. Tower reported that a helicopter was passing ahead and below and that the helicopter had us in sight. We did not have the helicopter in sight. At approximately 1200 ft MSL, and on the runway 35C ILS GS, we got RA 'monitor vertical speed.' captain said traffic was not insight, and I responded to the RA. Captain said that TCASII showed closest separation of 400 ft. Once clear of traffic, we continued and landed uneventfully. On rollout, I informed tower that we experienced an RA. Tower asked if we had heard his TA, and I responded affirmative.
