Narrative:
On dec/xa/00 I was assigned to work aircraft xyz. I informed my crew chief that I was not qualified to work this specific fleet type. Night shift manager X then assigned me to work under fleet qualified technician Y. It was my understanding that technician Y was to back sign my work. Because I was not fleet qualified on this aircraft, this created an unsafe work condition and placed me in jeopardy of an accident or injury.

Title: A TECHNICIAN RPTS BEING ASSIGNED WORK ON A B737-800 WITHOUT QUALIFICATION TRAINING.
Narrative: ON DEC/XA/00 I WAS ASSIGNED TO WORK ACFT XYZ. I INFORMED MY CREW CHIEF THAT I WAS NOT QUALIFIED TO WORK THIS SPECIFIC FLEET TYPE. NIGHT SHIFT MGR X THEN ASSIGNED ME TO WORK UNDER FLEET QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN Y. IT WAS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT TECHNICIAN Y WAS TO BACK SIGN MY WORK. BECAUSE I WAS NOT FLEET QUALIFIED ON THIS ACFT, THIS CREATED AN UNSAFE WORK CONDITION AND PLACED ME IN JEOPARDY OF AN ACCIDENT OR INJURY.
