Narrative:
In talking with the compressor blade planner; I was asking him if he knew for a fact that we were qualified to work on CF6-80c2 blades. Knowing that ati was doing the repairs on stages 3; 4; and 5. I was skeptical that we were qualified and asked to check with engineering. Spoke with technician lead and asked him to check the status of our blade shop's qualifications to do this repair. This was the result of an isolated event that did not consult engineering or shop personnel before changing shop order routing.
