Narrative:

MD80 vectored 360 degrees, then 090 degrees, then 070 degrees. Pilot observed in a southeast heading. Climbed for traffic. Pilot acknowledged all assigned headings, but appeared to have turned to an incorrect heading. Supplemental information from acn 497413: aircraft X read back heading 090 degrees, but continued a right turn past 090 degrees into the path of aircraft Y, opposite direction. Pilots never saw each other, had some altitude separation.
