Narrative:
We were told to intercept the dfw runway 31R localizer. When we proceeded inbound, we were cleared for the 'stadium visual runway 31R' approach when we were southwest of the stadium. This was given later than it should have been because it necessitated that we make a steep turn to get ourselves on track prior to the golf course.

Title: FLC OF AN MD88 COMPLAINT REGARDING A LATE CLRNC FOR A VISUAL APCH REQUIRING A STEEP TURN TO PICK UP THE PUBLISHED TRACK THAT MAY RAISE CONCERN WITH THE PAX COMFORT.
Narrative: WE WERE TOLD TO INTERCEPT THE DFW RWY 31R LOC. WHEN WE PROCEEDED INBOUND, WE WERE CLRED FOR THE 'STADIUM VISUAL RWY 31R' APCH WHEN WE WERE SW OF THE STADIUM. THIS WAS GIVEN LATER THAN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN BECAUSE IT NECESSITATED THAT WE MAKE A STEEP TURN TO GET OURSELVES ON TRACK PRIOR TO THE GOLF COURSE.
