Narrative:
We flew into airspace on G-446 that required an HF radio and we did not have one on the aircraft. We fly as co-captain. But, the most senior captain files the flight plan and checks WX. The copilot preflts and gets the plane ready. On this flight, I was the copilot. I did not file the flight plan or plan the route we were going to take. We were in a new airplane. When we got to jains intersection or sarje, center gave us a HF frequency. At that point, I realized we were on a route that required a HF radio. The plane had provisions for one, but did not have the radio head. So we were told to stay on route and relay through another flight (aircraft Y) until we were back into mia airspace. Things I should have done: be more involved in flight planning, even though I was not the captain. Also, I have flown from mia to bahamas a lot and did not need HF radio. So I did not even think about needing one for this trip. To correct the situation, I am going to try to take an international class on atlantic and caribbean flying to learn more about the airspace.

Title: C560 FLC DEPARTED INTO ATLANTIC OCEANIC AIRSPACE WITHOUT REQUIRED HF CAPABILITY.
Narrative: WE FLEW INTO AIRSPACE ON G-446 THAT REQUIRED AN HF RADIO AND WE DID NOT HAVE ONE ON THE ACFT. WE FLY AS CO-CAPT. BUT, THE MOST SENIOR CAPT FILES THE FLT PLAN AND CHKS WX. WHEN WE GOT TO JAINS INTXN OR SARJE, CTR GAVE US A HF FREQ. AT THAT POINT, I REALIZED WE WERE ON A RTE THAT REQUIRED A HF RADIO. THE PLANE HAD PROVISIONS FOR ONE, BUT DID NOT HAVE THE RADIO HEAD. SO WE WERE TOLD TO STAY ON RTE AND RELAY THROUGH ANOTHER FLT (ACFT Y) UNTIL WE WERE BACK INTO MIA AIRSPACE. SO I DID NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT NEEDING ONE FOR THIS TRIP. TO CORRECT THE SIT, I AM GOING TO TRY TO TAKE AN INTL CLASS ON ATLANTIC AND CARIBBEAN FLYING TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE AIRSPACE.
