Narrative:
On departure from sjc airport on loupe 9 departure in turn to 120 degree heading, bay departure notified us of traffic. The traffic was acquired visually but an RA followed very quickly. RA for a climb was issued by TCASII at 5000 ft and captain initiated climb. ATC was notified of RA and gave us an unrestr climb to 15000 ft. RA alert ended at 5100 ft.

Narrative: ON DEP FROM SJC ARPT ON LOUPE 9 DEP IN TURN TO 120 DEG HDG, BAY DEP NOTIFIED US OF TFC. THE TFC WAS ACQUIRED VISUALLY BUT AN RA FOLLOWED VERY QUICKLY. RA FOR A CLB WAS ISSUED BY TCASII AT 5000 FT AND CAPT INITIATED CLB. ATC WAS NOTIFIED OF RA AND GAVE US AN UNRESTR CLB TO 15000 FT. RA ALERT ENDED AT 5100 FT.
