Narrative:
Location: 8 mi final for runway 22 at pvr. First officer flying, late descent clearance. I asked first officer if he wanted a 360 degree turn, but he said he could get down. He had it below 200 KIAS 10 mi out, but got to 220 KIAS trying to get down about 8 mi out. I told him to slow down and got a 360 degree turn. The landing was normal. Have flown with first officer before and was not quite vigilant enough.
