Narrative:
Arriving in nassau after landing on runway 14 we cleared the runway at taxiway left. The captain called for after landing checklist which I proceeded to do. While performing this, ground asked us to hold short runway 27 for a taxiing aircraft. I looked up, saw no traffic, and went back to my checklist. Not even 5 seconds later ground asked if we held short of runway 27. I stopped my duties and looked at the airport diagram only to realize we had crossed runway 27 just after our taxi off the runway. I am still not sure if we had already crossed when he called us and requested we hold short. Either way, the runway was not clearly marked. It was lacking many necessary indications during IMC. Also, capts should be required to stop after clearing a runway prior to accepting taxi clrncs. I should have looked at the taxi route prior to running any checklists as well. The crossing did not pose danger nor effect operations. We spoke to ground when we arrived at the gate to insure we had not interrupted or caused conflict to any operations or traffic. Supplemental information from acn 505582: after landing in NAS, we exited runway 14 at taxiway a and proceeded to taxi northwest on taxiway H. Ground control contacted us and told us to hold short runway 9/27. These instructions were given to us as we entered runway 9/27 to the gate. As we realized we were on runway 9/27, ground said that we had crossed the runway and to taxi to the gate. The WX at the time was between 1/2 - 1 1/2 mi visibility. The WX was extremely strong rain, reduced visibility, strong winds and lightning. We were the last aircraft to land before all of the approachs went missed due to WX. I called NAS ground and talked to a supervisor and told her my side of the situation. The supervisor told me she appreciated my call and that there were no problems with the incursion.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: CL65 CREW HAD RWY INCURSION AFTER LNDG AT MYNN.
Narrative: ARRIVING IN NASSAU AFTER LNDG ON RWY 14 WE CLRED THE RWY AT TXWY L. THE CAPT CALLED FOR AFTER LNDG CHKLIST WHICH I PROCEEDED TO DO. WHILE PERFORMING THIS, GND ASKED US TO HOLD SHORT RWY 27 FOR A TAXIING ACFT. I LOOKED UP, SAW NO TFC, AND WENT BACK TO MY CHKLIST. NOT EVEN 5 SECONDS LATER GND ASKED IF WE HELD SHORT OF RWY 27. I STOPPED MY DUTIES AND LOOKED AT THE ARPT DIAGRAM ONLY TO REALIZE WE HAD CROSSED RWY 27 JUST AFTER OUR TAXI OFF THE RWY. I AM STILL NOT SURE IF WE HAD ALREADY CROSSED WHEN HE CALLED US AND REQUESTED WE HOLD SHORT. EITHER WAY, THE RWY WAS NOT CLRLY MARKED. IT WAS LACKING MANY NECESSARY INDICATIONS DURING IMC. ALSO, CAPTS SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO STOP AFTER CLRING A RWY PRIOR TO ACCEPTING TAXI CLRNCS. I SHOULD HAVE LOOKED AT THE TAXI RTE PRIOR TO RUNNING ANY CHKLISTS AS WELL. THE XING DID NOT POSE DANGER NOR EFFECT OPS. WE SPOKE TO GND WHEN WE ARRIVED AT THE GATE TO INSURE WE HAD NOT INTERRUPTED OR CAUSED CONFLICT TO ANY OPS OR TFC. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 505582: AFTER LNDG IN NAS, WE EXITED RWY 14 AT TXWY A AND PROCEEDED TO TAXI NW ON TXWY H. GND CTL CONTACTED US AND TOLD US TO HOLD SHORT RWY 9/27. THESE INSTRUCTIONS WERE GIVEN TO US AS WE ENTERED RWY 9/27 TO THE GATE. AS WE REALIZED WE WERE ON RWY 9/27, GND SAID THAT WE HAD CROSSED THE RWY AND TO TAXI TO THE GATE. THE WX AT THE TIME WAS BTWN 1/2 - 1 1/2 MI VISIBILITY. THE WX WAS EXTREMELY STRONG RAIN, REDUCED VISIBILITY, STRONG WINDS AND LIGHTNING. WE WERE THE LAST ACFT TO LAND BEFORE ALL OF THE APCHS WENT MISSED DUE TO WX. I CALLED NAS GND AND TALKED TO A SUPVR AND TOLD HER MY SIDE OF THE SIT. THE SUPVR TOLD ME SHE APPRECIATED MY CALL AND THAT THERE WERE NO PROBS WITH THE INCURSION.
