Narrative:
While holding at bravo line (south) short of taxiway a, ground control cleared us to taxi to runway 32L, tango 10 intersection, via right onto taxiway a, taxiway A7 and tango. After receiving the taxi instructions and taxiing on taxiway a, control surface checks were made. I checked the rudder pedals and as I looked forward, a fire and smoke on the field caught my eye at a distance. At this same moment, the first officer was looking at the display on the status for control surface check. This momentary distraction took our attention off the A7 intersection, and I taxied past it. Ground control was quick to notice. Ground control then reclred us via taxiway A6 and bravo to rejoin A7 and tango. At no time was safety compromised with any other surface traffic.
