Narrative:
On the morning of mar/thu/01 at about XA30, while doing our preflight checks on the ground in omaha, captain X and I noticed that the navigation data on the aircraft had expired on mar/wed/01. We selected the navigation data, which was due to start on mar/thu/01. We got information stating that the navigation data was out of date. We deselected and then re-entered the data for the mar/thu/01. This time all indications were normal. Flight abcd was operated to destination airport incident free. On arrival at the gate, we were met by someone from the maintenance department, who asked if the navigation data had been updated. We told him what happened and what had been done. He said 'ok' and left. On mar/wed/01 at about XA30, I spoke to captain Y, the assistant chief pilot, about the incident. I then realized that it was a problem and as a result I'm filing this report.
