Narrative:
Landed long at furnace creek, death valley airport. Touched down abeam ramp, which I thought to be midfield. Actually it was much farther down field. Since not enough runway was left for safe go around, elected to land long. Ran off end of the runway at very low speed and stopped on dirt only to have nosewheel sink into dirt. Propeller struck ground, engine stopped. No one hurt and no other damage to aircraft.
