Narrative:
After landing at lax, told to hold short of taxiway E12. We complied, but did not provide enough room for a B747-400 under tow (opposite direction) to enter E12 (I thought he was entering E11). Now nose-to-nose, we had to enter another air carrier's hangar ramp at E12, turn around to hold until the B747 was clear (non controled). We then called ground before leaving ramp, then cleared to gate.

Title: B767-200 FLT CREW EXIT LAX ONTO WRONG TXWY AND COME NOSE-TO-NOSE WITH A TOWED ACFT. B767 TAXIES IN TO A RAMP AREA TO REPOS FOR CORRECT TAXI RTE TO GATE.
Narrative: AFTER LNDG AT LAX, TOLD TO HOLD SHORT OF TXWY E12. WE COMPLIED, BUT DID NOT PROVIDE ENOUGH ROOM FOR A B747-400 UNDER TOW (OPPOSITE DIRECTION) TO ENTER E12 (I THOUGHT HE WAS ENTERING E11). NOW NOSE-TO-NOSE, WE HAD TO ENTER ANOTHER ACR'S HANGAR RAMP AT E12, TURN AROUND TO HOLD UNTIL THE B747 WAS CLR (NON CTLED). WE THEN CALLED GND BEFORE LEAVING RAMP, THEN CLRED TO GATE.
