Narrative:
After landing runway 17C at dfw, we turned off at taxiway a. Ground gave clearance to cross runway 17R on taxiway a, then taxi via taxiway K to gate. I did not hear via taxiway K, just taxi to gate. I taxied over taxiway a and there was another aircraft coming the other way. We got nose-to-nose and had to be towed. I missed taxi via taxiway K, and I believe ground missed that we were parking on other side of field. Taxiway K does not go to the spot we needed. My mistake for not hearing taxiway K and assuming taxi route.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG RWY 17C AT DFW, WE TURNED OFF AT TXWY A. GND GAVE CLRNC TO CROSS RWY 17R ON TXWY A, THEN TAXI VIA TXWY K TO GATE. I DID NOT HEAR VIA TXWY K, JUST TAXI TO GATE. I TAXIED OVER TXWY A AND THERE WAS ANOTHER ACFT COMING THE OTHER WAY. WE GOT NOSE-TO-NOSE AND HAD TO BE TOWED.
