Narrative:

Emergency WX deviation. Wbound across the gulf of mexico, 85 mi east of intersection nepta, we were cleared to deviation north of course. After we were established on our deviation course, ATC instructed us to turn 10 degrees south and not to deviate to the north because of a restr area. The new heading put us directly into the cell we were trying to avoid. We advised ATC. He had us squawk 7700 and cleared us to deviate as necessary to avoid the WX. We were clear of the WX and back on course. Our position at the time we were cleared into the restr area was N2833/7w8606.2 supplemental information from acn 509245: we were boxed in between cell and the warning area. Maybe drifted into warning area approximately 1 mi. 1-2 mins later we checked left back on course to nepta. Returned to original squawk.

Narrative: EMER WX DEV. WBOUND ACROSS THE GULF OF MEXICO, 85 MI E OF INTXN NEPTA, WE WERE CLRED TO DEV N OF COURSE. AFTER WE WERE ESTABLISHED ON OUR DEV COURSE, ATC INSTRUCTED US TO TURN 10 DEGS S AND NOT TO DEVIATE TO THE NORTH BECAUSE OF A RESTR AREA. THE NEW HDG PUT US DIRECTLY INTO THE CELL WE WERE TRYING TO AVOID. WE ADVISED ATC. HE HAD US SQUAWK 7700 AND CLRED US TO DEVIATE AS NECESSARY TO AVOID THE WX. WE WERE CLR OF THE WX AND BACK ON COURSE. OUR POS AT THE TIME WE WERE CLRED INTO THE RESTR AREA WAS N2833/7W8606.2 SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 509245: WE WERE BOXED IN BTWN CELL AND THE WARNING AREA. MAYBE DRIFTED INTO WARNING AREA APPROX 1 MI. 1-2 MINS LATER WE CHKED LEFT BACK ON COURSE TO NEPTA. RETURNED TO ORIGINAL SQUAWK.
