Narrative:
On downwind at pek, cleared from 2100 meters to 800 meters, controller training in progress. When descending from 1400 meters, cleared to 1500 meters. Questioned the clearance and was told to maintain present level 1350 meters. Quick controller switch, to one with perfect english. Received 2 more clrncs and then we were asked about maintaining 1350 meters.

Title: AN AMENDED CLRNC ALT CHANGE RECEIVED DURING APCH WAS LATER REVIEWED WITH A SUPERVISORY CTLR DURING A NEW CTLR TRAINING SESSION IN FOREIGN AIRSPACE.
Narrative: ON DOWNWIND AT PEK, CLRED FROM 2100 METERS TO 800 METERS, CTLR TRAINING IN PROGRESS. WHEN DSNDING FROM 1400 METERS, CLRED TO 1500 METERS.
