Narrative:
I flew from a grass strip 6 mi away, and decided to go do a touch-and-go at ocala. I did not check with FSS and was unaware of a new temporary control tower. At approximately 1100 ft scanning for traffic with my tcad and broadcasting on unicom (usually nobody answers) they told me there was a tower. I made a straight line out of the area and downloaded this form. There was no traffic seen or monitored as I left. I am notified of relatively small transmission towers, safety programs, changes in hangar rent at ocf, but heard nothing of this control tower till now. It's not on my chart updates yet -- they only say the new ILS begins may/01. (The reason for the tower?) I called the FBO and they didn't have the phone number of the tower and didn't know altitudes, etc (neither did FSS). FSS did advise of the tower's existence, so calling them before my local 10 mi flight would have prevented this, too.

Narrative: I FLEW FROM A GRASS STRIP 6 MI AWAY, AND DECIDED TO GO DO A TOUCH-AND-GO AT OCALA. I DID NOT CHK WITH FSS AND WAS UNAWARE OF A NEW TEMPORARY CTL TWR. THERE WAS NO TFC SEEN OR MONITORED AS I LEFT. I AM NOTIFIED OF RELATIVELY SMALL XMISSION TWRS, SAFETY PROGRAMS, CHANGES IN HANGAR RENT AT OCF, BUT HEARD NOTHING OF THIS CTL TWR TILL NOW. IT'S NOT ON MY CHART UPDATES YET -- THEY ONLY SAY THE NEW ILS BEGINS MAY/01. (THE REASON FOR THE TWR?)
