Narrative:

Captain flying. We were cruising at assigned altitude of 5000 ft. Extensive VFR traffic with excellent flight conditions. I was outside looking for traffic, when aircraft was cleared direct to coyle VOR. Captain turned to cedar lake by mistake from assigned heading. TCASII TA followed (5 RA's since takeoff). RA followed. Captain descended. ATC advised, issued new immediate heading and new altitude of 4000 ft. Lesson learned: PNF should check all new clrncs regardless of traffic.
