Narrative:
On may/a/01, while cored to land on runway 1 at lou, as I turned to final, I noticed that my aircraft was slightly high. Using flaps, the aircraft touched runway 1 between taxiway H and runway 24 intersection. At this point, to my judgement, everything was normal and I believed that the aircraft could be stopped without applying brakes. But, as the airplane rolled down the runway, I noticed that I had about 40 KTS of airspeed, as was indicated on the airspeed indicator at this time -- I had no choice but to continue the landing. I applied brakes and before entering the grass at the end, I cut the engine off and tried my best to control the airplane. The airplane contacted a fence with the right wingtip and turned into the fence and came to a stop.

Title: A C172 CFI PLT LANDS LONG AND RUNS OFF THE END OF RWY 1 AT LOU, KY.
Narrative: ON MAY/A/01, WHILE CORED TO LAND ON RWY 1 AT LOU, AS I TURNED TO FINAL, I NOTICED THAT MY ACFT WAS SLIGHTLY HIGH. USING FLAPS, THE ACFT TOUCHED RWY 1 BTWN TXWY H AND RWY 24 INTXN. AT THIS POINT, TO MY JUDGEMENT, EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL AND I BELIEVED THAT THE ACFT COULD BE STOPPED WITHOUT APPLYING BRAKES. BUT, AS THE AIRPLANE ROLLED DOWN THE RWY, I NOTICED THAT I HAD ABOUT 40 KTS OF AIRSPD, AS WAS INDICATED ON THE AIRSPD INDICATOR AT THIS TIME -- I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO CONTINUE THE LNDG. I APPLIED BRAKES AND BEFORE ENTERING THE GRASS AT THE END, I CUT THE ENG OFF AND TRIED MY BEST TO CTL THE AIRPLANE. THE AIRPLANE CONTACTED A FENCE WITH THE R WINGTIP AND TURNED INTO THE FENCE AND CAME TO A STOP.
