Narrative:

After initial review of the log, we noticed an open item in the cabin. A seat tray table was broken. Maintenance had been notified of the item through the company reporting method and the printout of this message was left in the aircraft log by the inbound crew. We neglected to insure that maintenance had signed off the item before we departed. Supplemental information from acn 511817: I reviewed the logbook. This was some time before departure. Didn't notice it until signing off the logbook at the end of the flight. No excuse.
