Narrative:

The reason for this report is very poor handling by bay approach. BSR2 arrival -- told to keep speed U pat boldr, given descent to 6000 ft at about 4 mi past boldr with keep speed up, expect qb runway 28L. Switched to final controller, cleared for qb runway 28R. About 3 mi past menlo, given speed 210 KTS. About 45 seconds later, given speed 180 degrees to sfo 5 DME (2 mi inside OM). Refused this clearance and given 180 degree turn to OM and switched to tower. On tower frequency, requested s-turn to get down. Request granted and switched to runway 28L. Were stabilized at 500 ft after significant s-turn north of final for runway 28R. Per telephone conversation with an air carrier B777 captain, aircraft that was behind us and was considering a go around because of our flight path. (We did not know that a B777 was close behind us.)

Narrative: THE REASON FOR THIS RPT IS VERY POOR HANDLING BY BAY APCH. BSR2 ARR -- TOLD TO KEEP SPD U PAT BOLDR, GIVEN DSCNT TO 6000 FT AT ABOUT 4 MI PAST BOLDR WITH KEEP SPD UP, EXPECT QB RWY 28L. SWITCHED TO FINAL CTLR, CLRED FOR QB RWY 28R. ABOUT 3 MI PAST MENLO, GIVEN SPD 210 KTS. ABOUT 45 SECONDS LATER, GIVEN SPD 180 DEGS TO SFO 5 DME (2 MI INSIDE OM). REFUSED THIS CLRNC AND GIVEN 180 DEG TURN TO OM AND SWITCHED TO TWR. ON TWR FREQ, REQUESTED S-TURN TO GET DOWN. REQUEST GRANTED AND SWITCHED TO RWY 28L. WERE STABILIZED AT 500 FT AFTER SIGNIFICANT S-TURN N OF FINAL FOR RWY 28R. PER TELEPHONE CONVERSATION WITH AN ACR B777 CAPT, ACFT THAT WAS BEHIND US AND WAS CONSIDERING A GAR BECAUSE OF OUR FLT PATH. (WE DID NOT KNOW THAT A B777 WAS CLOSE BEHIND US.)
