Narrative:
Right before push, we got a complete rerte up to seattle. Instead of the gmn 2, we got the ventura 2, with a different route. In the rush to make an on-time and expedite our pushback and exit from gate, we forgot to tell dispatch of our new route. We had 2 jumpseaters and a third was left at the gate. Once airborne, we let dispatch know of our new route, which was only a little different than the original. It might be nice to remind our crews of the sort of gotcha that occurred in this event so we are more aware of the items that we need to be on top of.
