Narrative:

While on base leg to final for a visual approach to runway 35C at dfw, the first officer and I idented our interval for landing incorrectly. When we realized another aircraft was in front of us, we were 7 mi on final. We were quickly configuring to slow for landing when the switch to tower frequency was issued. In my rush to configure, I forgot to FLIP the switch to tower and we landed with approach still tuned. Tower issued a green light for landing clearance. Landed uneventfully.
