Narrative:
Departed runway 9L lfpg in cavok conditions on omoga departure. At 2000 ft, departure controller told us radar idented, climb to FL100, direct omoga. I was PF and captain read back FL100, direct omoga. Upon rolling out direct omoga, controller advised us we had turned inside the marker and gave us a 30 degree vector back towards the northeast. Obviously, the intent of the departing controller was for us to fly the entire departure. We assumed the controller was turning us inside a B737 that had departed in front of us and that we were overtaking.
