Narrative:
Clearance to cross 20 mi east of goshen (gsh) at FL240. First officer busy trying to pick up a weak mdw ATIS. Passenger entered cockpit and engaged in distracting conversation. Crossing restr was missed. Captain thought clearance was to cross 20 mi west of gsh at FL240. First officer caught missed crossing restr after ATIS was copied. Contributing factors: passenger distraction. Mdw ATIS is weak causing flight crews to spend too much time and attention getting information copied. No cockpit door.
