Narrative:
Ground controller issued initially to taxi from terminal to runway 27 via A2 and hold short on runway 36 on A2. Our crew acknowledged. Then ground instructed us to cross runway 36 at A2. Our crew acknowledged. Then after our aircraft was past the hold short line for runway 36, but not on runway 36, ground controller instructed us to hold our position. We did that. He never told us why. Then a piper cherokee 6 took off on runway 36 and passed over our aircraft by approximately 300 ft. Ground controller then told us to taxi to runway 27. No further comments were made by ground controller. The departure end of runway 36 is not visible from taxiway A2 due to the runway slope.
