Narrative:

During cruise, a 'smoke lavatory' message was received. The lead flight attendant said that a passenger had been smoking in the 2L lavatory and had discarded the cigarette into the trash bin. The flight attendants discharged a halon bottle into the bin, and dowsed it with water. No further smoke was observed. I told the lead flight attendant to keep an eye on the lavatory. The lead flight attendant made a PA reiterating the no smoking policy. The passenger was met by the station agent in nrt.
