Narrative:
After landing and clearing the taxiway, we were told to hold short of a taxiway intersection while we checked on our gate status. While parked, 2 passenger left their seats to use the facilities. The captain was unaware that passenger were not seated and was not informed by the flight attendant. The flight taxied to the gate and shut down without incident. This is the second time in a month that this has happened. Both flight attendants were new to the company, and both told me they didn't know they weren't supposed to let people up. Flight attendant training at this airline is disgraceful! Both flight attendants were made acutely aware of their responsibilities, but after the fact is too late.
