Narrative:

While overhauling medium large transport door, discovered inner track missing. Did not come to shop with door. Ordered new track, and had to wait several weeks. Then I heard we got one, but receiving inspection did not accept it due to light corrosion. Then a couple of days later, my lead gave it to me to clean up and paint. I abrasive-blasted it and had it painted, and installed it on the door. Door went to stores and was sent to hangar for installation on aircraft. I assumed that when I got the part it had passed receiving inspection and was good to go. As far as not documenting painting and installation, I have no excuse. Installation is now documented on appropriate paperwork before aircraft left the hangar.
