Narrative:
Day off preceded 2 single day trips with scheduled rest period of 10.3 hours between them. Ran late on day #1 due to WX and company considering an aircraft swap. As a result, the scheduled 14 hour duty day became a 15 1/2 hour duty day. Company delayed scheduled report time for next day's trip by 25 mins to provide additional rest, however, I only got approximately 9 hours of rest versus 10 required through use of 24-hour 'look-back.' I was confused by the prior day being a day off and by the company stating that it was legal to perform the trip using the adjusted report time. I need to monitor the rest requirements better. I was surprised by the fact that my day off was, in reality, reduced rest and that I was, therefore, required to begin compensatory rest at the end of the first day of flying. Company chief pilot notified me of error on jul/fri after I reported to work.

Title: ACR PLT EXCEEDS FAR FOR REQUIRED CREW REST.
