Narrative:

On arrival into msp on the eau 4 arrival, captain was flying. We were being vectored, due to being slightly off center line of the arrival. This was due to the captain flying the eau 5 which was to go into effect the next day. This was cleared up and we were issued an altitude of 5000 ft from 11000 ft. On descent, through 7100 ft, ATC asked us what altitude we where going to. They said we were to stop at 8000 ft. They told us to stop now at 7000 ft. We stopped at 7000 ft and continued onto msp. We both thought the altitude was supposed to have been 5000 ft. Nothing further was said by ATC.
