Narrative:
Approximately 175 mi sse of rdu, a flight attendant told me that a passenger had taken excessive amounts of pills. Company contacted, and I was advised to divert into rdu. Medical emergency was declared and we landed in rdu. Passenger was taken off airplane and taken to hospital.

Title: AN ACR PAX TAKES AN OVERDOSE OF MEDICATION. AN EMER IS DECLARED AND DIVERSION TO AN ENRTE ARPT COMPLETED.
Narrative: APPROX 175 MI SSE OF RDU, A FLT ATTENDANT TOLD ME THAT A PAX HAD TAKEN EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF PILLS. COMPANY CONTACTED, AND I WAS ADVISED TO DIVERT INTO RDU. MEDICAL EMER WAS DECLARED AND WE LANDED IN RDU. PAX WAS TAKEN OFF AIRPLANE AND TAKEN TO HOSPITAL.
