Narrative:
The runway data for intersection M was listed under 32LJ for runway 32L. As long as I can recall, the data for T10 (the intersection most often used at ord) has been listed under 32LJ. A real pitfall was created for the crews because if they did everything they normally do they could easily get the wrong data for the runway. Fortunately, it is my practice to always compare the runway length available on the ATIS to the runway data information from the computer.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B777 PIC RPT REGARDING THE POSSIBLE USE OF INCORRECT DATA WHEN REVERTING TO OLD HABITS IN APPLYING INTXN TKOF DATA FOR TXWY M AND USING THAT DATA FOR A TKOF FROM INTXN T ON RWY 32L AT ORD, IL.
Narrative: THE RWY DATA FOR INTXN M WAS LISTED UNDER 32LJ FOR RWY 32L. AS LONG AS I CAN RECALL, THE DATA FOR T10 (THE INTXN MOST OFTEN USED AT ORD) HAS BEEN LISTED UNDER 32LJ. A REAL PITFALL WAS CREATED FOR THE CREWS BECAUSE IF THEY DID EVERYTHING THEY NORMALLY DO THEY COULD EASILY GET THE WRONG DATA FOR THE RWY. FORTUNATELY, IT IS MY PRACTICE TO ALWAYS COMPARE THE RWY LENGTH AVAILABLE ON THE ATIS TO THE RWY DATA INFO FROM THE COMPUTER.
