Narrative:
Pilot reported #1 brake and #1 tire worn to limits. Myself and 3 or 4 other amt's removed and replaced the #1 brake and #1 wheel assembly, following procedures from the appropriate maintenance manual. After completion of the work the brake checked good, paperwork was completed and the aircraft departed. When I came back to work today, aug/fri/01, I was told that the aircraft that we worked on had the #1 brake seize up on landing after the brake change. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the wheel keys were aligned with the brake rotors but when pushing and rocking the wheel assembly the 2 inboard rotors moved out of position and were not locked in the wheel keys. The reporter said on landing the brake seized.

Title: A B727-200 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH THE L MAIN GEAR OUTBOARD BRAKE INSTALLED INCORRECTLY. BRAKE SEIZED ON LNDG.
Narrative: PLT RPTED #1 BRAKE AND #1 TIRE WORN TO LIMITS. MYSELF AND 3 OR 4 OTHER AMT'S REMOVED AND REPLACED THE #1 BRAKE AND #1 WHEEL ASSEMBLY, FOLLOWING PROCS FROM THE APPROPRIATE MAINT MANUAL. AFTER COMPLETION OF THE WORK THE BRAKE CHKED GOOD, PAPERWORK WAS COMPLETED AND THE ACFT DEPARTED. WHEN I CAME BACK TO WORK TODAY, AUG/FRI/01, I WAS TOLD THAT THE ACFT THAT WE WORKED ON HAD THE #1 BRAKE SEIZE UP ON LNDG AFTER THE BRAKE CHANGE. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE WHEEL KEYS WERE ALIGNED WITH THE BRAKE ROTORS BUT WHEN PUSHING AND ROCKING THE WHEEL ASSEMBLY THE 2 INBOARD ROTORS MOVED OUT OF POS AND WERE NOT LOCKED IN THE WHEEL KEYS.
