Narrative:
On sep/xa/01 while observing another mechanic perform eco XXXX, flap deflection tube installation, I realized that I had mistakenly installed the wrong hydraulic tube while performing the same job on aircraft BBB. The new tube was installed at the outboard flap near the fuel jettison tube. I was working on the left wing when the incident occurred. Both the new and old tubes are close in size and shape and length with the new providing some extra clearance. With old tube installed it should not affect operation.
