Narrative:
Re: infant allergic reaction to infant meal provided. Catering brought on 2 infant meals (hot meals) just prior to door closing. We are usually only catered with baby food in jars, so I thought his odd, thought that maybe it was pre-ordered. The meals consisted of pureed substance ('dyed' green for vegetables, brown for wheat, etc.) shortly after infant began to eat meal, it began to choke. Flight attendant was able to assist in dislodging food/clearing airway and baby began to cry. Shortly thereafter baby broke out in hives all over body. Parents believe that meal consisted of communication/commeal, which they were recommended that infants not be given until after a certain age. The other baby meal was not served, as baby was asleep. After this incident occurred, other meal was discarded.
