Narrative:
Leveled off out of lax and received an automatic fuel feed fault on ECAM, switched to manual and noticed that left tank had burned out excessively during climb, switch to cross feed for balancing and turned off left boost pumps, fuel continued to decrease from left tank, suspected a fuel leak, declared emergency, prepared cabin for evacuate/evacuation, diverted to phx uneventfully.
