Narrative:
Security notified me that several mid east passenger were being profiled at lax prior to departure by fbi. Later it was determined that lapd anti terrorist officer had profiled and interviewed passenger. Lapd came to the cockpit and verified that the passenger were ok for travel. However, the crew was very apprehensive. None of the cockpit crew was able to get adequate rest trying to sleep with one eye open. Therefore, I am requesting an immediate answer to the following: on air carrier Y 767 there is a cockpit swivel chair that fully reclines with foot rest for sleeping in cockpit. When will this be added to air carrier X 767 aircraft. Crew bunks on 777 were removed with hints of replacement. That has been over a year. I know a crew rest rework is in the planning stages. In the short term, when is air carrier X either replacing the bunks or in the immediate short term installing one bunk. All boeing aircraft have the same key. My, guess is, others also have this key. The bar will help, but its been almost a month without even changing the locks. In the interest of safety and security, I cannot allow my crew to fly unrested and intimidated by terror. I need to know, crewmembers need to know and have secure rest facilities. Please do not return a canned answer. Our crews are requiring an immediate time frame and quick short term fixes. What is that time frame and what can I tell my crew?
