Narrative:
After landing on runway 18R we were directed to exit at D7 and hold short of taxiway D and to give way to a B757 northbound on D. Because of the placement of the hold short lines on D7, it is impossible to hold short of D and clear of runway 18R. ATC local cleared another cl-65 aircraft for departure on runway 18R while we were holding short of D. We were unaware of ATC's intention to depart an aircraft on 18R while we were holding short of D. We had no where to go! Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter said that he may have (but was unsure) been clear of the physical runway, but he was still on the runway side of the hold short lines and that put him in the runway environment when the departing aircraft took off. The approaching aircraft on the parallel taxiway, in the reporter's estimation, could have been cleared to give way to the reporter's aircraft in a timely fashion, making it possible to resolve the conflict.

Title: TFC CONFLICT BTWN AN ACFT ON TKOF ROLL AND A TAXIING ACFT RESULTS FROM A HOLD SHORT CLRNC TO THE TAXIING ACFT WHO COULD NOT CLEAR THE RWY ENVIRONMENT.
Narrative: AFTER LNDG ON RWY 18R WE WERE DIRECTED TO EXIT AT D7 AND HOLD SHORT OF TXWY D AND TO GIVE WAY TO A B757 NORTHBOUND ON D. BECAUSE OF THE PLACEMENT OF THE HOLD SHORT LINES ON D7, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO HOLD SHORT OF D AND CLEAR OF RWY 18R. ATC LOCAL CLEARED ANOTHER CL-65 ACFT FOR DEPARTURE ON RWY 18R WHILE WE WERE HOLDING SHORT OF D. WE WERE UNAWARE OF ATC'S INTENTION TO DEPART AN ACFT ON 18R WHILE WE WERE HOLDING SHORT OF D. WE HAD NO WHERE TO GO! CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR SAID THAT HE MAY HAVE (BUT WAS UNSURE) BEEN CLEAR OF THE PHYSICAL RWY, BUT HE WAS STILL ON THE RWY SIDE OF THE HOLD SHORT LINES AND THAT PUT HIM IN THE RWY ENVIRONMENT WHEN THE DEPARTING ACFT TOOK OFF. THE APCHING ACFT ON THE PARALLEL TXWY, IN THE RPTR'S ESTIMATION, COULD HAVE BEEN CLEARED TO GIVE WAY TO THE RPTR'S ACFT IN A TIMELY FASHION, MAKING IT POSSIBLE TO RESOLVE THE CONFLICT.
