Narrative:
After setting takeoff power and during takeoff roll, captain's airspeed indicator needle stayed at 0 KTS. Captain (PNF) scanned copilot's indicator (PF) and his needle was passing through 80 KTS. Captain commanded 'abort' and as abort was initiated, copilot's indicator needle indicated accelerating through 90 KTS as deceleration occurred. At that point, captain's indicator needle then jumped to 62-64 KTS. Further airspeed indications were not noted due to attention given to abort. Indicated airspeed on copilot's indicator reached up to about 98 KIAS (90 KTS INS ground speed) as best seen by crew. Subsequent maintenance procedure showed captain's airspeed indicator as faulty.

Title: A B742 CREW, DEPARTING CHANGI INTL, SINGAPORE, EXPERIENCED AN AIRSPD INDICATOR MALFUNCTION RESULTING IN A REJECTED TKOF.
Narrative: AFTER SETTING TKOF PWR AND DURING TKOF ROLL, CAPT'S AIRSPD INDICATOR NEEDLE STAYED AT 0 KTS. CAPT (PNF) SCANNED COPLT'S INDICATOR (PF) AND HIS NEEDLE WAS PASSING THROUGH 80 KTS. CAPT COMMANDED 'ABORT' AND AS ABORT WAS INITIATED, COPLT'S INDICATOR NEEDLE INDICATED ACCELERATING THROUGH 90 KTS AS DECELERATION OCCURRED. AT THAT POINT, CAPT'S INDICATOR NEEDLE THEN JUMPED TO 62-64 KTS. FURTHER AIRSPD INDICATIONS WERE NOT NOTED DUE TO ATTN GIVEN TO ABORT. INDICATED AIRSPD ON COPLT'S INDICATOR REACHED UP TO ABOUT 98 KIAS (90 KTS INS GND SPD) AS BEST SEEN BY CREW. SUBSEQUENT MAINT PROC SHOWED CAPT'S AIRSPD INDICATOR AS FAULTY.
