Narrative:
Problem arose when we (the flight crew) did not catch a route change on our pre departure clearance. We filed the creso.3 and were cleared by pre departure clearance on the clarr.one arrival into las vegas. The center controller cleared us to the misen intersection on clarr arrival. We didn't see the misen intersection because we were prepared to fly the CRESO3. After questioning the controller the problem was idented and the flight progressed without a problem. Fortunately the error was discovered at a point before the 2 different arrs diverged. It would be helpful (if the pre departure clearance has a route change from what was filed), to be highlighted somehow. A note to flight crew, or asterisks or something to draw more attention to the change.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B757 FO COMPLAINS OF THE PROC USED WHEN THERE IS AN AMENDED RTE FOR CLRNCS ISSUED VIA THE PDC PROC, MISSING THE FACT THAT MISEN INTXN WAS ON THE CLARR ARR RATHER THAN THE FILED CRESO ARR NEAR LAS VEGAS, NV.
Narrative: PROB AROSE WHEN WE (THE FLC) DID NOT CATCH A RTE CHANGE ON OUR PDC. WE FILED THE CRESO.3 AND WERE CLRED BY PDC ON THE CLARR.ONE ARR INTO LAS VEGAS. THE CTR CTLR CLRED US TO THE MISEN INTXN ON CLARR ARR. WE DIDN'T SEE THE MISEN INTXN BECAUSE WE WERE PREPARED TO FLY THE CRESO3. AFTER QUESTIONING THE CTLR THE PROB WAS IDENTED AND THE FLT PROGRESSED WITHOUT A PROB. FORTUNATELY THE ERROR WAS DISCOVERED AT A POINT BEFORE THE 2 DIFFERENT ARRS DIVERGED. IT WOULD BE HELPFUL (IF THE PDC HAS A RTE CHANGE FROM WHAT WAS FILED), TO BE HIGHLIGHTED SOMEHOW. A NOTE TO FLC, OR ASTERISKS OR SOMETHING TO DRAW MORE ATTN TO THE CHANGE.
